It was an
amazing trip to New York.  For those that don’t know Mike and I were
able to travel to NY with the 49ers thanks to Steve winning some kind of
lotto at work.  We showed up at the 49er facility on Friday, had a
police escort to the airport and flew on the team charter.  And this was
no ordinary flight.  The food just kept coming, and it was good food
too, not your typical peanuts and soda.  We’re talking shrimp cocktail,
beef tenderloin and different types of salads.  Movies from the moment
we took off to the moment we arrived in NY.  Hot towels.  It was beyond
1st class.
Once we were in NY, Mike and I toured
Manhattan.  Went to the top of the Empire State Building, took a ferry
out to The Statue of Liberty, and stopped by Ground Zero.  We also
experienced the subway and the feel of a NY taxi.  Dinner was
outstanding.  The 49ers took us out to eat at a fantastic restaurant in
Times Square.  Bottom line, it was a restaurant that kept bringing you
meat....lamb, steak, pork, prime rib.  You name it, they brought it.
And when they brought it, we ate it.  We capped off the night at a few
bars around Times Square and made our way back to the hotel.
Sunday was fun too.  We were able to
be on the field before the game and watch the team warm up.  It’s a
whole difference experience being down on the field seeing the speed
these guys hit with, and this was only for warmups.
A win would have capped off the weekend, but besides that, the whole trip was outstanding!
