We decided
to head up to Lake Almanor for the last few days of 2010 to relax and
play in the snow.  Ellie had never been to the snow, so we thought this
would be a great opportunity.
And as I type this, it is New Years
Day and it snowed about 4 inches last night.  That to go along with
plenty of snow that was already here, I’m hoping we are able to get out
tomorrow (fingers crossed).
The drive over the mountains wasn’t
too bad, although we could only go about 30 MPH, so the usual 90 minute
drive took much longer.  But, we didn’t have to put on chains which was a
 GREAT thing!
And once we got here everything was
great.  The dogs loved the snow, although all the running and playing
aggravated Sierra’s leg injury, so we many need to visit the vet when we
get home.  Ellie is having a great time too.  The driveway is the
perfect sled run!  And Megan joined us for the trip, so Katelyn and her
have been  having a lot of fun together.
Other then that, it’s been a nice
visit to the snow.  Chopping wood for the wood stove, layering the
clothes for afternoons in the snow, plenty of cards and games, and
plenty of time to relax.
We’ll see if we are able to get out tomorrow. Happy New Year.
