I was planning on
having this blog entry be the Kiddo Kleinheinz Bonanza entry, but then
again, I thought he’d be here already.  So, since he’s not, I figured
I’d just give a regular, but busy, update.
Katleyn had her regional
gymnastics competition down in Anaheim, and she did well!  It was a long
season, but I know she was excited to be at the meet that included
girls from California, Nevada, Arizona and Utah.  So for her, it is now
on to Level 10 (hopefully), which I think is the highest level you can
compete at prior to college-level gymnastics.
And how could you go to
Anaheim and not at least stop by and see Mickey Mouse? And Ellie LOVED
it! Even more than a year.  And she was a trooper.  After staying out
late the night before for gymnastics, she got up early and we hit the
park right at 8:00am when they opened. We seem to have a bit of a system
down (not like it is much of a secret) now that we’ve gone the last
couple years in a row (not to mention having some Risser blood, which I
think has some embedded Disneyland DNA) but we went straight to Peter
Pan and Fantasyland.  Hit Pan, Pinocchio, Snow White, Dumbo and the Tea
Cups in about an hour, then headed over the Materhorn.  While Ellie and I
waited in line for the Matterhorn (or the roller coaster with the big
monkey as Ellie likes to refer to it as) Steph went to get Fast Passes
for Space Mountain.  After the Matterhorn we took the double-decker
trolly down Main St. and meet up with mom and dad. Since they were down
for the gymnastics, they joined us for the day at Disneyland.  We had A
FULL DAY! Ellie was able to ride Space Mountain (she thought it was
so-so. Excited at the beginning, but being in the dark that long wasn’t a
hit) and Thunder Mountain (she LOVED IT), two rides she wasn’t tall
enough for last year.  We had dinner in Downtown Disney and then went
back into the park for fireworks.  Ellie made it the whole day and
through fireworks and crashed out in her stroller around 10:00pm as we
were walking over to see Fantasmic.  So all-in-all, another great trip
to the Magic Kingdom.
It did take a few days to finally recoup after all the driving and the full-day of activities.
After that trip everything
was focused on getting ready for the baby.  I really thought he would be
early, and I guess technically he still could be since his due date
isn’t until the 18th,
but I thought for sure he’d be here at least a week early. But I think
everything is ready.  We got everything out of storage. Washed and put
everything together. Swapped out the picks and flowers that Ellie had,
for blues and footballs.  Got the diapers, clothes, wipes, car seat,
stroller, seems like everything is in order, now just waiting on him.
And let’s not forget that Ellie was a week late, so he could very well
just be following in his big sister’s footsteps.
On the sports front, the Sharks were rolling
in the playoffs.  The ditched the Kings in 6 games, and then went up 3-0
on the Red Wings, and everyone was feeling real good.  But the Red
Wings have fought back to make it a 3-3 series and we are now going to a
game 7.  Gotta love the game 7s, but not when it looked like your team
was about to sweep.
Last entry was about the
broken iPad, this time it is about the broken washer.  It has since been
fixed, but we went about a week without it.  And this is the new one,
the one we just got in October.  Something electrical went out on it,
because it would start and stop all by itself.  But GE did a nice job of
coming out, all still covered under warranty, fixed it up, and we are
back to washing clothes.  Which is a really good thing since I’m sure
Kiddo will be going through a mass amount of clothing.
So now it is back to the waiting.
