Cooperstown Day 5 - Elimination Day

With the bye, the boys watched as 50 other teams battled it out to try and make it to the Wednesday bracket.

They opened Wednesday against the Red Hawks from New Jersey. 32 teams made it to Wednesday so no matter what it had already been a great, great tournament.

Unfortunately the 8:00 a.m. games have not been good for this team, they must not be early risers. But they battled. They were down 4-1 in the bottom of the 5th inning, time was winding down, 2 outs, and Lukas came up with 2 runners on.

BOOM! He cracked his 2nd HR of the tournament and everyone went crazy! The HR tied the game and that sent a jolt of energy through the whole team. We held them in the top of the 6th and then loaded the bases and walked it off with a hard single to RF by Quincy. The boys just moved into the top 20!

Home runs, walk offs, come from behind wins, grand slams, awesome pitching, it was everything we could have hoped for from a tournament.

We went right into the next game and I think the exhaustion finally caught up to everyone, we just weren't as sharp as we had been, and we faced a really good team. We took the loss, finished in the Top 20 and have great memories from the trip.
