Day 8 - Final Day in Chicago

We finished off our trip with a lot of laughs.

Nothing was on the agenda, but Lukas was feeling like he wanted to overcome his fear of heights, so what better way to do that then going up to the top of the Willis (formerly Sears) Tower and standing out on the glass ledge.

The tour through the tower was fun. Lots of Chicago history. Plenty of photo opts. Then we got to the top. We stood in line and watched 50-60 walk to the glass boxes that were 103 stories above the street, and hanging off the building about 5 feet. Everyone walked out, no real issues. Lots of people posed, sat down, laid down, even did little jumps.

That was not the case when we got to the front. I walked to the edge where the glass floor started, and I had second thoughts. So seeing Cesar and Lukas approach the edge was hilarious. We had lot of people laughing at our group as we inched into the box.

Everyone survived, and plenty of laughs were had.

Once we got down to solid ground we drove up to Wrigley Field to exchange a couple shirts. Then we drove over to the beach so the boys could play in Lake Michigan. The water was warm and clear. Very blue. Tons of people at the beach. I guess that's their reward for getting through what I imagine are brutal winters.

Notes:  Drove down and around Soldier Field. I either never noticed or paid attention, but the boat parking at Soldier Field might be bigger than the parking lot for cars...Getting around Chicago was still a little challenging since they have roads on top of roads, so the GPS never is quite clear as to which level you're on...Couldn't have asked for better weather.
