Vacation wrap-up

Not swine flu or even tropical storm Andres could stop us from having a great time on our cruise!  After planning it for a year, then pushing it back because of the swine flu 11 of us finally boarded the Carnival Splendor and kicked of Cruise 2009.  Actually the fun started the day before the cruise with a great dinner at Parker’s Lighthouse in Long Beach and capping the night with a showing of The Hangover (Step back fat Jesus!).  We laughed so hard many of us had tears in our eyes, fun times!!

We then started the cruise.  Lots of drinks, (the Peach Mojitos were the biggest hit), a LOT of food (over 30 main courses one night, 7 lobsters for Mike), and plenty of gambling (is it bad that by the end of the cruise the dealers wanted to be Facebook friends?).

We weren’t able to get to Puerto Vallarta because of Tropical Storm Andres, but we did hit Cabo, Mazatlan and Ensenada aka Mike Gone Wile at Papas and Beer.  The weather was great, the water was warm, the beer was cold and the company was outstanding.

After the cruise we hit Lake Almanor for the 4th of July Weekend (photos coming soon).  As always Lake Almanor was nice and relaxing and again, a whole lot of fun.

But now vacation is over and summer is here.  Ellie starts swim lessons on July 13, Katelyn turn 14 at the end of the month (again, where does the time go) and Steph starts her new job during July.  Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that Steph was promoted to Clinics Administrator which means she’ll now be managing the 5 clinics of the Santa Clara County School Health Clinics.  I’m not really sure her duties yet, but I’ll find out.

So even though this was one of the longer blog entries I know I missed a lot of the details.  I’ll try and follow up soon, along with more pictures.
