The
49ers are doing a new segment, within their current 49er Total Access
Show, titled Total Access Jr. (yes, a lot of thought went into that
creative name). But they are looking for two teen hosts, and Katelyn is
in the running. You had to produce a video
to start with. She got a call back, and from what I could tell it was
25 kids (mostly guys) and they are picking two of them. At the call
back she had to deliver an opening of the show from a script they
provided, and then do an interview. She nailed the script and did a
great job with the interview too. They said they’d be making a decision
in a couple of weeks, so we’ll see what happens.
Ellie continues to be a ton
of fun. Most recently we went to Happy Hollow, which is a combination
amusement park for little kids and zoo, with a co-worker, Marisa, and
her family. Leah, Marisa’s two-year-old, and Ellie had a great time and
spent much of the day holding hands and going from one ride to the
other. Ellie also had a great time at the zoo part. It’s really more
petting zoo then regular zoo, so she was able to feed the sheep, goats
and have the miniature horses nibble at her hand.
We’re also a couple weeks
away from getting a visit from Marlo and Greg. It’s been a really long
time since we’ve seen them, so it will be a good time. They are coming
out for a wedding down in Monterey but we’ll carve out some time to
hangout with them.
Everything else continues
to just move along. It’s hard to believe that summer is almost here
(where has the year gone?). The garden is starting to come up which is
good. At least I didn’t kill the seeds before they actually became
plants, now it’s just a matter of watching them, watering them and
seeing if they produce anything.
In other, non-family, news, the Sharks are in the Western Conference Finals for the 2nd
time in their history and taking on the Blackhawks. Saw Iron Man 2.
Not as good as the first one, but still not bad. Toy Story 3 comes out
in a couple weeks and I think that will be Ellie’s first adventure to
the movie theater. And if anyone has copies of Lion King or A Bug’s
Life on DVD I’d love to borrow (copy) them.
