4th of July

Steph got back from her trip to D.C. on Father’s Day and a couple days later we celebrated our 8th anniversary.  WOW, 8 years already!  We had a great dinner at McCormick and Schmick’s in downtown San Jose.

We started the swim season at the Hsu’s house.  Jerry and Stephanie hosted an afternoon of food and swimming, and Ellie turned into a little water bug, just like last year. So swimming is in full swing.

Ellie took her first trip to the movie theater and we saw Toy Story 3, and she did great.  The movie was great, and together with some popcorn, she was entertained the whole time.

A couple weeks later we headed up to Lake Almanor for our annual 4th of July trip, and it was great.  The new boat was in the water, and it’s really nice.  Plenty of room for everyone to move around and relax.  Plus a new 4-person tube, which Katelyn found a lot of fun.  We also got a chance to visit with the Escobars, which was nice since we hadn’t seen them in a long time.  And since Kristin and the kids were also up there, Ellie and Hannah had tons of fun together.  From playing in the water, to having their “club house” which actually was the box the BBQ came in.

Ellie also took a ride on the “Snow Dude”, which was actually the jet ski, but she combined Sea Doo and the movie Snow Dogs, which Ellie saw for the first time.  So she called it the Snow Dude.

Quick little update on the garden.  It is going gangbusters.  The corn is about 6’ tall and the tomato plants have a lot of green tomatoes growing, so it’s only a matter of time before we can have fresh from the garden vegetables.
