Mid March and it’s still raining

Quick note on the weather.  It’s raining. A LOT! And it’s cold.  Which is a real bummer since we’ve moved into Day Light Saving Time and Spring is supposed to be here.

As for the photo above, that was the line for the iPad 2 launch.  And yes, I was one of those people that got in line about 8 hours before the launch just to make sure I got one.  And a week later, I’m glad I did.  I was about #40 in line.  The #1 guy in line actually got in line at 4:30 the day before and the first 15 or so spent the night.  Now that’s hard core.  Small world moment of the day was the fact that the two girls standing in front of me, one worked at the Stanford Cancer Center as a researcher and the other was 9 months pregnant and giving birth at Packard.  Weird!  The line got huge! They estimated the line at around 900 people at 5:00.  The best part was the fact that they only let about 50 people inside the mall at a time, everyone else was outside in line and at 4:45 people walked over and said, “The line’s not that bad, maybe I’ll wait.” Then the Apple people had to tell them “actually the end of the line is past Macy’s.” And for anyone who knows Valley Fair Mall,
Macy’s is WAY AWAY from the Apple Store.

As for the iPad 2, it’s awesome.  I’m loving everything about it.

As for other stuff, we’ve been going all out trying to organize baby stuff.  Taking out girl stuff and bringing in boy stuff. Steph just spent the last week or so going through all the clothes and sending them to Outrageous Outgrowns, a twice-a-year chance to resell baby clothes, toys, etc. So that was a lot of washing, folding, tagging and hanging.

The 2nd Dinner From The Homeland went pretty well too. Steve couldn’t make it since the NFL is in lockout mode and he had to stay late the night of dinner.  But the Italian Pork Chops, German Spaetzel and salad was good.  Better then the first one.  We’ll see how they progress.
