Sleeping Through The Night...Almost

Lukas surprised us earlier this week by sleeping all night long (about 9pm - 6:00) and he maintained doing about 8-9 hours each night. It just comes down to when he falls asleep. If it's around 7:00 we still get a 4:00am wake-up call. So if we can keep him up until 8:30 or so when Ellie goes to bed we can get a good night sleep.

But backing up a bit. We celebrated Katelyn's Sweet 16 in late July. We did a brunch at Campo de Bocce with the whole family and I think she really enjoyed it. Steph did the decorations and made cupcakes, and everyone thought those turned out GREAT! I  can’t believe she's 16!!!

But before we could get to the party, we had to get her out of the hospital. She woke up Monday morning with terrible pain in her stomach. Karin took her to the ER and spend most of the day trying to figure out if her appendix should be taken out.  Nothing was conclusive so we opted to just wait and see how things progressed.  She had to stay over night, and Tuesday she started to feel better, finally going home that night.  They think it was an ovarian cyst that burst.  Either way she had to spend a few days in the hospital, which was no fun for anyone!

We met up with the Brancos’ for our annual summer BBQ. Ellie had a ton of fun with Sam, as always. And we got a chance to hangout with Bryan and Jenny. We may be another dose of the Brancos in October. Bryan is running a marathon down in San Jose. So hopefully we can get together then.

Steph and I took in a Giants/Phillies game thanks to tickets from Jason and Kristin. It was my first Giants game of the year, and a great matchup with the Phillies pitching Cliff Lee.

Now it's time to start winding down summer, looking forward to Ellie starting preschool at the end of August. The start of football is here, so that means fantasy football!! And our Disneyland trip.  Still busy!
