Things are Cray-Cray, as the Kids Today Would Say

Lukas soccer practice, Ellie basketball game, softball opening ceremonies and game, 3 different kid birthday parties, plus dinner and drinks for Mike’s birthday…. and that is just this coming Saturday.

And while I’m not looking for more stuff add to my plate I need to get back on the blog. So, 15 minutes, whenever it presents itself will be dedicated to blogging. This is my most recent 15 minutes.

Softball Season is here
Yes, things are crazy. Ellie is finishing up her basketball season at the YMCA. It’s a co-ed league, but there are only about 6-7 girls in the league, and she’s the only one on her team. It was an adjustment, but she’s enjoyed it. As for softball, she’s into it. She’s once again on the Pink team, although this year we are the Fireballs instead of the Thunder. We have about 7 returning players from the Thunder and/or Sparks teams from last year, so we are experienced, and envision us having a very strong year. We are so far ahead of where we were last year in terms of bringing the girls along skill-wise.

Lukas has been in Kidz Love Soccer with his Dylan, his cousin, and he’s really enjoyed that. It’s been his first foray into a sporting activity, which means his schedule should ramp up considerably soon.

Ready for work at Disneyland
One person who may be able to match busyness for busyness is Katelyn. She’s working hard in her classes at UC Irvine, plus cheerleading again this year, and finally, she just landed at job at The Happiest Place on Earth. She’s now a Disney employee. She’s just finishing her training and will be working Toy Story Mania in California Adventure very soon.

It’s been 9 months since we started the process of adding on to the house, and in that time it has been mostly fighting with the city. We seem to be coming to the completion of the planning phase, which doesn’t mean an approval since we need to go before the Historical and Landmark Commission and make our case as to why we want to do this. Apparently since our house is over 100 years old we don’t get all the say in what we want to do with it, the city does. Which as you can imagine, hasn’t made me all that happy. Will we have our addition by the summer? Fingers crossed.

And since it’s almost springtime it’s only natural to start planning out the full summer (crushing head pain!).

A few other notes that come to mind right away...We had the chance to go to Club 33 in Disneyland with Mike during our trip in October...The kids were Darth Vader (Lukas) and a Stormtrooper (Ellie) for Halloween...We hit Vegas for Stephanie Ferrante's wedding to Kenny...After a 30 year wait Dad and I finally got our season tickets to the 49ers, and although the season was a disappointment in terms of record, it was fun to see so many games...Steph and I hit the inaugural Foster Farms College Football Bowl Game, Stanford v Maryland, but we ended up spending a good amount of time in the club area since it was so darn cold...And most recently we celebrated the 10th anniversary of Steph's 27th birthday.

Steph's birthday celebration
Yeah, they play soccer in the mud

Well, that’s my 15 minutes for today. Until next time.
