In June 2014 we had the idea to finally pull the trigger on putting an addition on the house. Extending the back of the house by about 10-12 feet so we could have a larger bathroom and an attached garage. What a great idea, right?
Well, it's January 4, 2016 and it was day one of the project. At least day one of having guys on site.
The process of going through the city, the Historical Commission, the planning department, the building department, etc, will make your brain hurt, it certainly hurt mine. But today I picked up the permits and workers were on site. So we're full speed ahead! It's going to be a long 4 months (estimated time until completion), but it's also going to fly by.
Logistically we've moved our bedroom to the front of the house and overtaken the kids playroom. We've also turned the basement into our own Public Storage unit. You never know how much crap you really have until you have to box it up and store it.
I've taken a couple of "before pictures" and we'll see if I can keep up with all the ongoing pics.
