With all the kids’
sports on hold, there was nothing on the calendar. And we could do a ton when
we only had to drive one direction.
So, Steve, Shannon and the kids took off to Ohio, and we
flew in the day after they arrived. We flew from San Jose to Pittsburgh, PA
with a loooong layover in St. Louis. Lots of downsides to COVID, among them, the
only restaurant open in the St. Louis airport was Burger King. And not a full
Burger King, one that had a printed piece of paper with about 7 items on it.
We landed in Pittsburgh about 7:30 and Steve picked us up from
the airport and drove us the 50 minutes to Youngstown.
Much like the St. Louis airport, not a lot of restaurants
were open past 8:00 pm in Youngstown because of COVID. But we found a Texas Roadhouse
open until 10:00, so we sat down and had a full meal. And Lukas made us hustle
back so they could go swimming in the hotel pool before it closed at 11:00.
Then it was an attempt to get to sleep as everyone was still on CA time.
