Chickens 1 Year Old

I felt I hadn't put anything down digitally, so I logged on. Then realized that the last time I did was a year ago and we had just got the chickens.

Hence the title.

I guess I can give a wrap up of the chickens after a year. They are awesome! They started laying eggs a couple months later, and then laid 4 eggs a day for about a year. That meant a lot of egg breakfasts, and it was FAN-TASTIC.

But besides the chickens there's plenty to talk about.

Ellie is a freshman at Mitty, and playing field hockey. She initially was reluctant to play, but it didn't take long for her to find her groove and really enjoy the sport, the team, the coaches, everything. Even goalie. She got put into goalie early on into the process, and before long she was their top goalie.

Lukas moved into 5th grade, and after a little bit of a tough start -- more nerves than anything -- he has settled in nicely. Miss Amidon is a rock star teacher and has really helped him.

Lukas elected not to play soccer, and wanted to keep playing baseball. He really fell in love with baseball this past spring when he was on the Westside Padres. And even though the season at Westside wasn't good, his enjoyment for baseball skyrocketed.

COVID is still around, so I'm still working from home. And although things are opening up enough that we can enjoy things that we missed out on like concerts, eating out, sporting event, etc. It's still not "back to normal."

Hopefully there will be more soon, not next October.
