Thanksgiving Time

Ellie and Stephanie had a whirlwind week in early November. They flew to Lake Placid for a week of luge training for Ellie. Although there wasn't any snow on the ground, it was pretty cold and allowed the team to get their first runs of 2021-2022. Ellie did really well on the ice, having times in the mid :47s and even got into the :46s on one run.

I know she enjoyed the time in Lake Placid.

But, it wasn't back to California when the week was over, it was off to Las Vegas to meet up with her softball team for a tournament in Sin City. Because of the week of training Ellie missed practice and the first day of the tournament which found her on the bench a little more than she was used to, so it was a chance for her to fight for her position. The team did really good, won all 5 games.

Continuing with softball, Ellie had one more tournament on the Cal Nuggets Woods team, which they did well down in LA. She has tryouts coming up this weekend, so we'll see how those shakeout.

We spent Thanksgiving at Lake Almanor and while we had the traditional turkey dinner, it was the side of trout that had everyone excited. After many previous tries, Lukas caught his first fish.

Fun photo, this is Lukas as a 10-year-old with his first fish, and my dad as a 10-year-old with his first fish.
