As
many of you may know, the big news as of late is that we are expecting
another baby. With an estimated debut date of May 22, 2011 everyone
here is very excited. The big shoutout was done on Facebook thanks to
Ellie and in fact the new baby has a Facebook profile (Kiddo Kleinheinz) so feel free to follow the baby’s progress there.
In other news, Ellie is
doing great, fully potty-trained for a few months now and doing great.
And she’s full of new things to say. She likes to drop a “Yes Sir!”
every once in a while when I ask her to do something. She’s a big fan
of “I’m kidding” and shouting “To infinity and beyond” while jumping off
the couch. And clearly the imagination is in overdrive, she likes to
wear this red wristband and say she is a rescuer. Not sure where she
got that or what she is rescuing, but it keeps her entertained for a
long time!
The house has had some bad
mojo lately regarding electrical appliances. First, the steam-cleaner
went out, which was a result of sucking up too much dog hair. Then the
microwave went out and had to be fixed. Then the washer went out and
had to be replaced. And overall things have been a little sketchy on
the electrical front. Fingers crossed that everything is behind us, but
if not I’m just going to blame the aliens, that’s the only explanation.
Katelyn had homecoming last weekend and danced the night away. She had a good time and looked beautiful in her dress.
We’ve
been trying to do some day-trip type things lately. In mid to late
September we went down to Watsonville for some apple and strawberry
picking at an orchard down there. That was fun. Steph and Katelyn made
an apple pie when we got home, possibly the best apple pie I’ve ever
had! We also hit Pastorino Farms last weekend for some pumpkin patch
fun, which has really changed since I went to the pumpkin patch. I
remember going on a school field trip and simply running around the
field and just grabbing a pumpkin before we left. But now they have hay
rides, and train rides, and petting zoos, and pony rides, and haunted
houses, and jumpy houses….it’s a whole day’s worth of stuff. But we had
a great time, and my friend Scott who I worked with at KNBR runs the
farm so it was nice to catch up with him. So, if you are looking for
something to do before Halloween, check out Pastorino Farms in Half Moon
Bay . Lots of fun for the kids.
